#23 - Summary

I really enjoyed going through the Things and think I will be accessing my blog frequently and going beyond #23. I also may be reviewing a number of these, especially some that I didn't have enough time to experiment with. I didn't give myself enough time to digest this information and hurried through because I was getting close to the deadline.

Things # 21 and #22

I listened to an Irish & Celtic Music Podcast - I like the fact that you can open your senses to different types of music and information. I have listened to podcasts before. #22 - the ebooks. I really enjoy listening to audio books. I always have one to listen to on my way back and forth to work. I seldom enjoy listening to radio stations because of the excessive advertising. I have never downloaded ebooks - since I do not own at MP3 player but think I will be doing this in the future. This is a nice idea since our library has a limited amount of books-on-cd that can be checked out. I also signed up for a net.library account which you have to do inside the library. I looked at the site - this is a good tool to help patrons find information not in our library.

#20 - YouTube

I am already familar with this site. My 16 year old daughter loves to view Will Farrell, and other commedians on YouTube. I downloaded my favorite - the Arby's monkeys Riverdancing.

Things #18 & #19

#18. Registered online for both word processors. Nice that you could use this anywhere.
#19. Played a few games - very fun.

#16 and #17

On Wiki's - everyone can be an author so information can be altered and cannot be taken at face value. Added my blog to favorite blog page.

#13, #14 and #15

#13. I explored the Del.ic.ious website and signed up for an account but could not download the toolbar to the library's computer which means that a lot of these things actually have to be done at home if you have the time and the computer. #14 is playing with tags - which I have done and it is a useful tool. #15 - my thoughts on the future of the library - it is amazing how much information you can learn from the web if you have the time to play - I wish I could get paid for spending time on the web leaning new technology.

Thing #10, #11 & #12

#10 I did play around with the image generator.
#11 Found this very useful and cataloged some of the books I have read, several times.
#12 Rollyo - Right now I don't think I would be interesed in using rollyo.

Things #5, 6 & 7

I checked out Flickr and downloaded some pics. I enjoyed seeing pics from Australia. I am going to try to use it often. #7 - I like posting pics to my blog and other profiles I have on the internet.

Better get back to it

I sort of stopped doing this - so now after talking to a few of my library friends, I thought I should continue and see this thru.

Week 1 and 2 - read blog, listened to the pointers from lifelong readers three times since I had left too much time inbetween to remember what it said. I feel that writing down your goals would be a hard thing for me to do - with working 40 hours per week, a commute time of five hours per week plus my responsibilities at home raising two kids, I just don't have the extra time. However, I do like learning new things and love to read books. I always enjoy a book on cd while traveling back and forth to work. I am lucky my son works a Circuit City part-time because he fills me in on the newest technology crazes. #3 - Set up my own blog #4 registered it.

Greetings

Welcome to my blog:

I have been working for the Youngstown and Mahoning County Library since August of 2000.

I love my job as head clerk at Sebring Branch. I also enjoy working with our staff and patrons - they are all wonderful people.

I have two teenagers at home - my son who is going to YSU this fall to Major in Computer Science. He works part-time at Circuit City and my daughter who is a sophmore at Canfield High School. She is interested in art and music. I am a Band Mom and proud of it!

I have three cats, Matilda, Sugarplum and Butterscotch. In my spare time, I love to read romance novels and light mysteries.

I love to garden and enjoy fragrant herbs - like Sweet Annie, Lavender, Lemon Balm and etc.

I try to attend all Canfield High School football games and enjoy attending band nights and concerts.
